The Big Freeze: Niagara Falls Ices Over

Winter may have gotten off to a slow start, but now most of the country is feeling the season’s icy wrath.

Not surprisingly, Niagara Falls on the Canadian border has been experiencing its fair share of arctic temperatures. On Monday, the mercury dropped to 13 degrees below zero. In many years, portions of the waterfalls will ice over or even freeze, resulting in the astounding photography such as is going viral this week.

Of course, the entire falls cannot freeze over, so don’t let the pictures fool you.
