A strange nighttime explosion was captured on a dashboard cam by a driver in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region. As to what the flaming ball of fire is– no one yet knows.

It may just be another fireball meteor, similar to the one that was caught in Japan earlier this month.

A Reddit user offered up an explanation that sounds pretty scientific, but the comment was lost amidst the boundless nuclear war jokes.

“Hydrogen and oxygen burning in the air as the charged meteorite moved through the atmosphere.”

What do you think the explosion was?
