There’s tons of good stuff coming out of Lucasfilm right now. Since being acquired by Disney, the studio has given us all hope of revamping some of the company’s most treasured franchises. The most obvious example that will have our mortal mouths watering until December is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but for all the fans of great ’80s action blockbusters, equally as exciting news is just an adventure away.
In her Vanity Fair interview, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the following:
“[Another Indiana Jones movie] will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
Be still, my beating, Harrison Ford-loving heart.
As if seeing one of cinema’s greatest action heroes return for the trailer of Episode VII wasn’t enough, knowing that his iconic archeologist and treasure hunting character might also return to the big screen (following the disaster of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) is enough to get anybody’s blood pressure rising. Of course, that’s not to say that Ford himself will appear in the possible reboot (the last time that happened, it wasn’t great), but to see Indy back in theaters would be an amazing thing for the fans.
While rumors have swirled for some time that a younger and more fit actor like Chris Pratt might be the big contender for the coveted role of Marshall College’s sexiest professor, the reality is that they need a script first, so this project might not come to fruition anytime soon. As long as they keep aliens out of the plot this time, Geek VIP will be ready and waiting for more news.
