Come on down!

The Price Is Right contestant Danielle Perez was a real trooper yesterday (May 5) as she went on stage for the pricing games prize round on the long-running show.

In the video below, host Drew Carrey is all smiles as he welcomes Danielle and congratulates her on doing well, but you have to wonder what went through his head as the panels opened and the prizes were revealed. When the announcer George gleefully announces, “Couple of prizes, Danielle. We’ve got a treadmill and a new sauna!” you could cut the awkwardness with a knife.

A quick look of horror flashes across Danielle’s eyes before she smiles excitedly and exclaims, “Oh my… These are really nice!” After securing the prizes, all of her nerves from being on national television fade away, and she graciously goes to accept her winnings.

Naturally, the fact that a wheelchair-bound woman won both a treadmill and a walk-in sauna – prizes which are selected before the contestants are chosen – is bound to cause a buzzy fervor on the internet as people blow things out of proportion. Was it awkward and totally happenstance? Yes. Was it a tragedy? No.

Honestly, there are a lot of people who would probably have a worse reaction to winning a treadmill and Danielle won two awesome prizes. So she can either let her friends and family use or otherwise sell to make some nice cash (thanks to those nasty game show taxes). On Twitter, Danielle said that it was the best day of her life.

Sure, it may not have been the perfect prize for her, but she takes it like a champ!
