After 30 years, you’d think the tunes on the original Super Mario Bros. would get annoying. But I constantly hear fellow video gamers and geeks humming it. Oh, you think you’re a nerd? Well serious and genius geeks have turned this piano into a giant version of the original Nintendo Entertainment System, complete with a controller for a bench.
Composer and pianist, Sonya Belousova, along with filmmaker Tom Grey created the website Player Piano and the YouTube channel PlayerPiano. The piano itself was made by Grey along with production designer Megan Burns.
Player Piano is releasing this video as a teaser for their album of 8-bit gaming themes reworked for the piano. Coming out this Thursday, it will be available on their website, iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. It contains eight songs from games like Mega Man II, The Legend of Zelda and Castlevania.
You can actually win this custom made one of a kind instrument if you subscribe to their YouTube channel. Once they reach a million fans, they will give the piano away to one lucky nerd! Check out their other videos of geeky themes like Doctor Who, Game of Thrones and Street Fighter.
Want more tunes? Then please SHARE with your Mario loving friends!
