One of the essential characteristics of many superheroes and futuristic foes is that they’re nearly invincible. Kind of like this new synthetic material.

Created by a NASA-funded research project, the layered material contains a gel that solidifies when it mixes with air. That means that when an outer layer is damaged or broken, the material automatically fixes itself.

I know it sounds like something straight out of Terminator, but this is totally real and could have countless practical uses out in the real world. Imagine a phone that could never scratch, or a window that could never break. This is big news, people!

Now somebody just needs to give it a cool name… T-800 Model 101 might be too lengthy. If you think this is cool, give it a SHARE!
