Basically, all your prayers have been answered.
While it’s true that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer is set to debut in IMAX on Monday, why the heck should you wait? Well now you don’t have to.
Thanks to one (presumably Brazilian) pirate, the first trailer for the upcoming dark superhero movie has leaked, and the internet is eating it up. And thank goodness this was a Portuguese screening, because in many other languages this trailer would have been dubbed over, and while we could have enjoyed the visuals, we might not have understood anything. But more about my anti-dubbing stance another time.
The Batman v Superman trailer leaked yesterday. And now on to news people care about, the Force Awakens in 245 days.

The trailer is dark, and it clearly pitches the idea that Superman may not be the “god” he’s cracked up to be. Does that mean that Batman is stepping up to put him in check? And maybe this “absolute power” will introduce the Justice League as more of a checks and balances system that will stop any one superhero from having a hegemony on planet Earth. Thoughts?
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that by the end of the movie, the various superheroes stop fighting each other and instead use their powers for good. Call me crazy.
There’s only one question left to be asked: what the heck is the Chicago skyline doing in there? That’s some serious subliminal feminist messaging!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
