Sources are reporting that Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne has been offered the lead role of Newton “Newt” Scamander in the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff trilogy, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

If you’ve read Harry Potter, and even if you’ve paid attention to the movies, you’ll know that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an important book within the wizarding world as well as a staple to any Hogwarts student’s required reading. If you’re a super-dedicated Muggle like me, you also might have purchased the aforementioned book (penned by J. K. Rowling as Newt Scamander) back in 2001.

Still, if reading isn’t your thing, you won’t have to wait too much longer. The book-within-a-book is being turned into a three-part movie (that’s 21st century Hollywood for you), with the first installment being written by J. K. Rowling and directed by David Yates. As per reports, everybody’s favorite ginger Eddie Redmayne has been offered the lead role of Scamander, the famed Magizoologist who traveled the world in his younger years to tediously complete a volume on magical creatures on a Ministry of Magic commission.

Rowling has described the films as “an extension of the wizarding world,” set 70 years prior to Harry Potter’s years at Hogwarts.

It’s perfectly okay if you are freaking out right now because we are too. Before you know it, there are going to be too many hot Hufflepuffs in this world to handle (we’re looking at you, Diggory.)
