Their Novel Plots Got Them Banned!
Haruki Murakami once said, “If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.” It’s true that books are one of the greatest weapons people of all backgrounds have when it comes to educating and liberating themselves from all forms of oppression: social, political, and intellectual, to name a few.

The following list of historically and controversially banned books contains some of your childhood favorites, and you won’t believe the wild reasons that people come up with in order to take good literature off the shelves at schools and public libraries.
Did you favorite book make the list? Which one of these surprised you the most? SHARE with a friend and let us know, and remember: always keep reading!
