Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who’s the least original of them all?

Okay, just kidding: we love Disney movies (who doesn’t?), but this video was just too eye-opening not to share.

Each animated Disney classic may seem like a totally new adventure, a freshly imagined dream, and a magical escape from reality, but if you look closely enough, you might begin to notice some similarities between specific scenes in some of your favorite films.

The YouTube channel Movie Munchies compiled clips from Disney classics like Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Robin Hood, The Aristocats, and The Jungle Book that show the shocking parallels between dance and musical sequences. Before you brush it off, know that these aren’t just coincidences.

After one film was finished, Disney artists would save the original animation cells and simply redraw new characters and likenesses over them (with new backgrounds behind) in order to save work from having to redraw an entirely new scene.

What other recycled footage have you been missing? Watch the awesome video below!
