Disney World Opening New ‘Indiana Jones’-Themed Bar and Restaurant

Fans of Indiana Jones, get ready for your next big gastronomical adventure: Walt Disney World is going to open a new themed restaurant based on the exploits of your favorite archaeologist. Kind of.

Disney announced earlier this week that the restaurant, called Jock Lindey’s Hangar Bar, will be opening in Downtown Disney this fall.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will seat 150 and be modeled after an airplane hangar. While not explicitly based off of any single Indiana Jones‘ plot or adventure, the eatery will evoke the exotic travel and globetrotting themes in its decor and menu with plane propellers for fans and a parked steamboat for outside eating. The restaurant takes its name from Jock Lindsey, Indy’s pilot and companion who you might remember has a pet snake named Reggie that once gave Jones a heck of an unpleasant plane ride.

Personally, I think this new venue sounds awesome, although some fans are upset at the tangential nature of the “themed” bar for not being more representative of a specific film or storyline.

I wonder if they’ll serve snake surprise, beetle, or chilled monkey brains.

If you’ve ever wanted to drink like Indy – or Marian – now’s the time!
