Violence is never the answer, unless we’re talking about claymation celebrities, in which case violence is always the answer.

Your early 2000s self should be rejoicing right now, following MTV’s announcement today, April 14, that the hilariously gruesome program Celebrity Deathmatch is coming back to television.

The show originally started as a short featuring the clay likenesses of Charles Manson and Marilyn Manson fighting to the death. It was such a hit that MTV brought it back for the Super Bowl XXXII halftime show in 1998.

Celebrity Deathmatch gained worldwide notoriety and a cult following thanks to its heavily sadistic fights, dismemberments, and deaths, all colorfully clay-animated and topped with the perfect amount of satiric commentary on society.

The show’s original run was eventually cancelled in 2002 after four seasons and 75 episodes, but not before giving us such memorable matches like Hillary Clinton vs. Monica Lewinsky, Aretha Franklin vs. Barbara Streisand, and a doubles match of David Duchovny/ Gillian Anderson vs. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, among countless others.

Following a brief return in 2006, it’s now been eight years since Celebrity Deathmatch last aired a new episode. At the moment, all we know is that MTV2 has ordered a new pilot episode to be created; no word yet on when it might premiere. With the pop culture scene so changed since the show last aired, what ultimate match-ups would you like to see?

For a quick throwback, here’s the most hyped-up match I remember from my childhood:
