The 79-year-old actor Burt Reynolds made a rare public appearance this past weekend when he came to speak at the Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia.
Marking his first Comic Con, the actor participated in an audience Q&A, telling the Philadelphia Inquirer, “I always enjoy talking to fans and I’m usually very pleased with their curiosity about my career, what I’m doing, what I’m not doing, and why I’m not doing more.”
Citing his interest to find out what Comic Cons are all about, one wonders if Reynolds’ appearance wasn’t also publicity for his upcoming memoir, But Enough About Me, which will release in November 2015.

In the highlights from his Q&A, the elderly actor shows off that he’s still as sharp as ever and jokes about past movie sets and rumored rivalries with Marlon Brando. Among his more poignant responses, Reynolds confessed that the best leading lady he ever had was Sally Field and that his favorite movie he ever made was Deliverance, to which the audience applauded.
Watch Burt Reynolds don rose-colored glasses and charm the audience the way he always has:
