On November 3, the European Space Agency posted a video on its official YouTube account taken by ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst as he flew over New Zealand while aboard the International Space Station. The time-lapse video taken at 400km above Earth captures a green Aurora Australis glowing in night the sky above New Zealand.
The nighttime video shows an aurora that occurs when Earth’s atmosphere interacts with solar radiation.
